No More Freeways is an all-volunteer labor of love by a handful of Portlanders who are worried about traffic congestion, carbon emissions, air pollution, and traffic safety. Since founding in 2017, we’ve raised and spent approximately $150,000 on buttons, social media, legal fees, postcards, and donuts for our volunteer at events (ODOT has spent nearly $200,000,000). We’ve filed multiple lawsuits, held massive rallies, and successfully run a David-vs-Goliath campaign to fight the freeway industrial complex locally and nationally.
In 2026, our lawsuits against ODOT’s advancement of this freeway expansion will be heard in state and federal court. Your donations this year help us cover our legal costs to hold ODOT accountable for these massive freeway expansions. Every donation before January 1, 2026 up to $15,000 is matched – whether you have a lot or a little to donate to our cause at this moment, every dollar counts towards building our grassroots campaign to stop the freeway industrial complex from paving over our community and robbing us of the funds we need for safer streets, cleaner air, and frequent transit.
